PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

Tumbleweeds Preschool Program is broken up into two age groups.
Preschool I is designed for children turning 3 years old by October 1st. Preschool II is designed for children turning 4 years old by October 1st.

Our Preschool programs enhance preschoolers’ confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Every day in our Preschool programs, children participate in:

  • whole-group instruction

  • small-group activities that provide skill-based learning opportunities

  • daily literacy-building activities

  • child-directed play in learning centers

  • reflection of daily experiences

Community Programs

In addition to our daily preschool curriculum, the preschool program integrates learning and exploration with community partners.

  • Miss Laura visits us once a week and leads our dance activities.

  • Mr. Chance from the Wilton Library visits us twice a month and provides hands on educational literacy to our students.

  • We walk to the Wilton Library twice a month.

  • At times we participate in local events representing the early learners of the community.

Preschool Schedule Options

We offer full or half day preschool options:

  • Our half day program runs 8:00am-11:00am

  • Our full day program integrates the preschool program within our full day child care hours of 6:30am-5:30pm.
